4. 3rd party contributions
(remove the vtigerForge from Users) vtiger should create a platform for contributions that destinguishes
- 3rd party contributions that are validated by vtiger to work with the current released CRM version
- Type 1: Open Source Contributions
- Type 2: Commercial Contributions -> for sales (let others making money with vtiger, vtiger charges a fee to get a contribution validated and listed)
- 3rd party contributions that suppose to work with the current released version but are not validated by vtiger
- Type 1: Open Source Contributions
- Type 2: Commercial Contributions -> for sales (vtiger charges a fee to get a contribution listed)
- Open Source 3rd party contributions which do not fit to the above listings
Here are my reason why this is more effective than the vtiger forge:
- at the current forge users have a hard time to find an application that really works and is worth the time spend with, giving it some order will improve the users success and is more professional
- I am sure many users have done their own improvements to vtiger without posting it. Why not give them a platform where vtiger and those people can make some money. If this is proper priced and full supported by vtiger I am also sure that you will motivate some contributors. I know vtiger would like to have everything as Open Source but it makes no sense to have a closed door to commercial enhancements. These contributions will be good for vtiger and contributors with Opens Source in mind will continue to post anyway.
